Soon you will be home but only for a short time

Soon you will be leaving with a heavy heart

You will worry about each of us left behind

We will worry about you as you fly overseas

With all that I am I will dread seeing you go

It will be wonderful to feel you near

If even for a few memorable moments

Holding you close and hugging you hard

I will pull in the tears and smile

Inhaling the scent of my Baby Sunshine

Bundling it up into a corner of my memories

Along with your hugs and brilliant smile

Those sparkling eyes and cheery voice

Magically and mentally, I will make you small

Place you in my pocket close to my heart

Tuck you in and keep you from harm

Always here with me, I will watch over you

When you need me, I will be with you

Ask of me and I will answer the call

Remember when and let it flow within you

I am right there holding you close

Remember our silly, sad and glorious moments

My Baby Sunshine in the uniform of a soldier

Sworn to protect our Country and our Nation

Strongly committed to our safe keeping

We all are so deeply proud of you

Of your dedication and commitment

Proud of the road you have chosen to travel

Proud of the warm, strong, wonderful woman

Who blesses or hearts with her presence.

Closing my eyes I can imagine your return

Tears of relief and joy flow from our eyes

Proudly my Little Soldier walks from the plane

Walking Tall beside her band of brothers.
