What freedom means to me
for freedom isn't free
many have paid the ultimate price,
they gave their lives
that we may be free.

May we never forget
this ultimate sacrifice
as we go about our day to day
be it school or work or play
for freedom isn't free.

They were sons and daughter
fathers and mothers
sisters and brothers
volunteererd to stand and fight
that we may be free.

So protest if you must
but remember our soldiers
have earned you that right
they chose to serve
give them the respect that they deserve
for freedom isn't free.

And now today as in the past
our troops prepare to stand and fight
to do what they have sworn to do
while some of you may disagree
which is your right
remember freedom isn't free.

So please support our troops
and don't forget their families
spouses and children
parents too
here at home keeping the faith
hoping their loved one will be home soon.
and while they may not understand all the why's
more than anyone they know
the price of freedom is sacrifice
for freedom isn't free.

may they return safely to their
families and friends
and for those who don't
may their families undestand
the one they love didn't die in vain
